NEWS and HIGHLIGHTS
On Tuesday, October 27th, twenty-four people gathered at Trinity-Grace to make Motanka dolls, the traditional Ukrainian cloth dolls wound and tied by hand, never cut or sewn. Each of us wound a piece of meaningful fabric into a doll that became a prayer for the children and civilians of Gaza and Ukraine. For example, Shadia used a fabric that was made during Holy Saturday: Naming of the Martyrs Vigil outside Christ Church Cathedral using stamps from Joy Banks' exhibition on The One and the Unfathomable Many: A Lament on Gaza.
Thank you to everyone who came, shared the stories, and gave so generously.
Donations from the evening are being split between two causes. Half will go to UNICEF's Ukraine fund through Eva and Lana's account, joined by a portion of proceeds from Gracie's Thrift Store. The other half will go to the Shepherd Society Ministry in Gaza, which supports children in Gaza, along with a portion of income from our upcoming Fair Trade and Artisan Market.
REMINDER: If you would like to request a prayer to be spoken during our Sunday Service ‘Prayers of the Community’, you can do so by sending a prayer request via our website (link below). You can either have the prayer requested for one Sunday or for the rest of the month.
Of course, you can also continue to request prayers during Sharing Time during the service. We will pray for your request that Sunday.
