Faith Outside the Box is a weekly space to unlearn, decolonize, and reimagine Christian faith and spirituality together.

This week at ‘Faith Outside the Box’, we will commemorate the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation by watching together the documentary, “The Doctrine of Discovery: Unmasking the Domination Code”.
The documentary is the collaborative work of Dakota filmmaker and Director, Sheldon Wolfchild, and Co-Producer Steven Newcomb (Shawnee, Lenape), and exposes how centuries-old Vatican decrees justified the seizure of Indigenous peoples’ lands and created a “domination code” that still influences U.S. and Canadian law.
It is a story of historical truth, spirituality, and resistance, told on behalf of the original nations.

Fair Trade and Artisan Market
Are you interested in shopping locally and purchasing ethically made products? Begin your Christmas shopping by visiting the Fair Trade and Local Artisan Market at Trinity Grace United Church on Saturday, November 7th, 10 a.m. til 4 p.m. Attendance is free.
Check out our list of vendors who will be selling a variety of both local items and products from around the world, including Christmas ornaments, jewelry, cards, textile products, and food items.
There will also be a lunch and snack concession. Come for the shopping, stay for lunch while enjoying the music of local musicians!

A variety of delicious lunch items, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Local musicians will be performing throughout the day, adding to the festive atmosphere. In addition, homebaking will be available.

There are 2 hour parking spots in the neighbouring streets and Trinity Grace has a parking lot in the back.

On Sept.23 we will be taking our faith completely “outside the church box” and going out!

Need a ride? We will carpool from TGUC at 6:15pm or meet at the front steps of the church at 6:45pm.
We’ll be heading to the Municipal Election Assembly being organized by Metro Vancouver Alliance, where Vancouver mayoral candidates will be asked to make public commitments relating to affordable housing and climate justice.
