Pronoun Stickers

Pronoun stickers!

Look for the pronoun stickers at the Welcome Table on Sundays, and at our events throughout the year. Please help yourself!

Wearing a sticker is a small, simple gesture, but it does something quietly powerful: it makes sharing pronouns a normal, everyday part of how we greet one another. As the Blackburn Center reflects in this thoughtful article, many of us have never had to give much thought to the pronouns others use for us, and that ease is itself a kind of privilege.

For folks who are transgender or who don't fit neatly into "he" or "she," the task of telling others their pronouns, or asking to be addressed correctly, can feel isolating and singling-out. When those of us for whom it comes easily take the lead in sharing our own pronouns, we help carry that weight together, reduce the stigma around the conversation, and signal that everyone is welcome here exactly as they are. It's a small sticker, and a big way of saying: you belong, and we're glad you're here.
