TGUC Choir singing *‘All Creatures of our God and King’*

Thanksgiving Sunday is the final week of the Season of Creation. We are excited to have Marianna Harris speaking this Sunday about Choosing Life: Gratitude & Response.

Last Sunday TGUC held our annual "Blessing of the Animals" service where we honoured and remembered our animal companions, past and present. Many thanks to Pippo the Frog (and Allen Alvarez) for their participation, and to Darcy and the TGUC choir for the wonderful anthems!

During the service, we had a technical glitch and weren’t able to show the video of Pippo’s song “Listen to the Frogs” so if you’d like to watch it (highly recommended!), here’s the Youtube link

And if you’re interested, here's a document with the lyrics & chords.

Finally, if you’d like to show or tell your friends/family about the service, Allen created a 3-minute highlight video from the service. It’s on our Youtube channel here.

And a final piece of News for the upcoming week: Rev. Sandra will be away from October 9th-15th. For pastoral concerns during that time, please contact the church office.

A THANKSGIVING INVITATION

This Thanksgiving, join Kitchen Conversations with the United Church of Canada Moderator: A Thanksgiving Table — a special video series bringing together food, faith, friendship, and stories from across cultures.

Palestinian Chef Izzeldin Bukhari joins Moderator Kimberly Heath and friends to cook recipes from his home in Palestine and share stories about how food can create connection, foster belonging, and open pathways toward peace.

A new episode drops every day over Thanksgiving

In Matthew 22, the Pharisees and Herodians try to trap Jesus with a question about the imperial tax. He answers by asking for a coin and posing a question of his own: whose image is this, and whose inscription?

We will read passage together, then look at the money in our own pockets. Whose face in on a Canadian coin? What does the inscription claim, and what story do the images tell about the land?

Shadia will share about historic Palestine and the British Mandate coins and currency.

Bring your own coins and banknotes!
